Days 27-28 ~ The Deepest Lake in US

Michigan to Pacific Ocean  ~  Now EAST

Crazy Roads ~ we were in RV for them

25 MPH Curves, Chain-Up, Snow Zone, Bump, Remove Chains  ~  Really glad we were here in October

Beautiful day, Beautiful trees, Beautiful mountains

Lots of colors

Sadly ~ lots of Wildfires too

Long roads

Entrance of the prettiest blue lake we have ever seen

WoW

Lake inside of crater

At 1950' the deepest lake in America

Wizard Island

That's Pam by Mini ~ look at the view

Twisted trees

The smooth lake acted as a mirror

We stopped at every park scenic view around the 33 mile rim for pictures  ~  enjoy

snow !

The bottom road is for cars; the next one is the trail to the top lookout

Make it to the end of this post for some amazing pictures from that lookout

Just before lunch  ~  around 2 pm  Beautiful mirror images

Can you see the cone on Wizard Island?

Wild life  . . .  see it?

And this little bird was looking for a snack; it posed for me in three different locations

Black crows  ~  not wild life in my book !

More of those twisted trees

So CUTE !!

Adorable

A thin coating of ice on this STILL water

Beautiful Visitors Center made from the local stone

Tall trees

Green moss on the falls

Driving this park was fun in the Mini  ~  Dan didn't get to drive

No signs to let you know there is a curve & no shoulder!

Does this look like a phantom ship?

We are near the end of the circle around the rim and the sun is getting low

Pinnacles

These are strange looking

These were formed by gas rising up through the volcanic ash

The strangest things I've ever seen

Wizard, Ship and now a Castle

Sun starting to set

Rock on the side of the road

Mini on the road

Big rock

Big tree

Made it to the top!

Long way up!  BUT so worth this view

They used this look-out to search for wild fires. See the binoculars.

THERE it is .... the cone on Wizard Island

A long way up.

The mini way down there!
There it is...

The look-out made with materials from the mountain

Sun setting on us on the way down

The colors were amazing ... hard to capture in pictures

End to another beautiful day in Oregon

We were way up there! Almost a 1/4 mile verticle rise.

Going ... going...

gone

Snow gets THIS high! (533" annually)
