Days 39 - 42 Snow !@#$%^&*

Not sure we liked Wyoming !!!

The day started normal . ..

It was 60 and sunny when we left

The clouds started rolling in...

Then it started misting

Then we were driving in the clouds

The Spud Drive - In with Extra Large spud on truck

When we entered Wyoming from Idaho

 it started getting worse

visibility was 100'

Then it started freezing and was getting slick

The wipers couldn't keep up

Not the time to be driving a motor home through the mountains

It was hard to to tell where the road ended and cliff began

then the engine started to loose power

we weren't sure we could make it up the hill and there was no place to pull over.

We would have to pull over to clear the windshield and mirrors

The wipers couldn't keep up

We ended up changing course, going down the mountain and heading south @ Jackson Hole.

Fueled up and luck would have it we also talked to a diesel mechanic here

The storm started to clear and we limped to the next big town ~ Rock Springs, WY

We finally made it to a Cummins Service Center and took RV for a test drive on the airport road!

The first snow for The Mini  :(

Thought the roads were clear ~ and for a little while they were . . .

Pulled over dozens of times to clear windshield ~ ugly drive!

the storm left some interesting icicles (front driver's side~only)

We pulled into a KOA late, happy to be off the road.   Thanks to Brittany!!  She helped us find KOA  (that is thick ice!)

Wild (back dual wheel)

The mini wasn't made for this weather.

Days 35-38 ~ Day at Yellowstone

Still blog troubles . . .

Only one day to enjoy Yellowstone ... storm moving into area

What you see on the interstates in Montana!

Beautiful mountains .... but that is snow!

driving int the mountains and clouds!

Our first view of Yellowstone!  Amazing elk just grazing
Whole families, so beautiful

Post Card Shot

These two Bison were on the shoulder of the road, eating the new growth on the pines

First of many Geysers

Really nice elevated boardwalks

We turned into the parking lot of the Visitor's Center and our spot was taken  LOL

He was itching his horns on the snow pole...so funny

Too many tourist watching; time to leave parking lot

We arrived just before Old Faithful was due to erupt

Just the beginning . . .

close up view

We toured only 1/4 of the park today ... could've spent a week

Opal pond

Mud pies ... yum

Huge herd of Bison

Doesn't STOP for cars ... walked right in front of the Mini

Guess the Bison aren't afraid of falling through the crust

Water fall of steaming water

pretty blue

Fountain Paint Pots

The only Grizzly we saw ... we looked for real ones all day, but no luck

Look .... I did let him drive the Mini

Beautiful sunset as we left Yellowstone

Looked like the sky was on fire
