Day 55 - 64 ~ Nashville Yee-haw !!

What a great time in Music City !!

Bridgestone Arena ~ location of XM radio station "Highway"

Wings right next to Predators ~ funny!

These tiles were all over the floor for concerts that SOLD OUT here in Bridgestone Arena

Missed the CMA awards in Nashville by one week  :(  Maybe next year

Sad ~ no hockey !

100 year old Ryman Theater in the middle of modern buildings.

The street really looked cool at night with all the neon signs on.

Entertainers left their guitars all over the place.

We ended up seeing "Little Big Town" here

They had big whiskey barrels on the street.

Broadcast tower for XM satellite on Broadway.
What Blog would be complete without a picture of an old truck.

Broadway was beautiful at night with the signs lit up.

6 tower cranes on one site, now thats some serious construction.

It will look like this once completed.

Who would have thought Parthenon was in Tennessee

With a duplicate 40 foot tall statue of Athena

dem r sum doos

dat too

with lion heads no less

very intricate carvings

It was duplicated to exactly the same size

I quess this saved us a trip to Greece.

A huge locomotive was also in the park.

Some Iron Horse

There was a game going on but we couldn't get in to see them beet the Tennessee Volunteers

Who loves this store!~ Amanda :~)

When we saw this we had to check which state we were in.

We thought we were in Grand Rapids, MI

Though we just missed evening prayer.

Some more interesting sights around Nashville

XM Satellite tower

They were just starting to decorate for Christmas

We ended up seeing the Rockets here

More guitars

When the Rockets play here during the holidays, the country concerts are held at the Ryman.

The Opry was closed to tours so we toured the Opry Mills

The indoor garden atrium

Hanging balls,

Indoor waterfalls,

Crazy tourists,

hanging balloons,

more waterfalls,

Grand Ole Opry is actually the longest running radio broadcast in history

Big elevator lobby

The atrium was huge

Fountains too....

Even the horses wear boots and play guitars

they even had a indoor river

Sun was setting on another busy day

Just a cool car outside the hotel

now that is some spire

but I'd hate to have to shingle it

The Bluebird Cafe was made famous when the show Nashville show was shot there

so we had to go there for the dinner and show when the writers were performing

We also had to try the famous Barbeque Joint, when pigs fly

our table was 5' off stage

This was Garth Brooks fiddle player

This guy was really photogenic, wasn't he.

We sat next to Walker's wife.  They have 4 kids under the age of 6.
A Country Christmas display at the Gaylord Opryland

So beautiful !  2,000,000 twinkling lights!

These were all around the base of the big tree

Amazing nativity scene with recording playing of the story
